Printarium started with a love of art. The technology came later, as a new way to make it.
I'm a 3D designer and artist based in Pretoria, South Africa. My passion for art started at a very young age, long before I ever touched a 3D printer. Today, that passion runs through everything Printarium makes: from positives for pottery moulding to hand-painted creatures that take days to finish.
The studio blends hands-on craftsmanship with just the right touch of technology. Some days that means shaping a design on screen until every curve is just right; other days it means sitting with a brush and a tiny pot of acrylic, bringing a printed figure to life one layer at a time.
With over a thousand original designs published online and pieces in homes and studios across the country, Printarium has become exactly what it set out to be: a workshop where art, technology and problem-solving share the same filament spool.
Every project gets equal parts innovation and obsession for detail, whether it's a R100 stamp or a one-of-a-kind commission.
Machines do the printing. The designing, finishing, painting and problem-solving happen by hand.
Some of our favourite pieces started as "this is probably impossible, but...", so bring us those ideas.
Whether it's a gift, a tool, a collectible, or a wild idea, the studio door is open.
