1. About these terms
These terms apply to all quotes, orders, commissions, and services provided by Printarium, a creative studio based in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) or other South African law.
2. Quotes and orders
- All work starts with an enquiry and a quote. Quotes are free and valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
- A quote becomes an order once you accept it and any agreed deposit is paid.
- For custom work, we may ask for a deposit before starting. The deposit covers materials and design time.
- Prices for pieces listed on the Available Art page are as shown, and a piece is only reserved once payment is confirmed.
3. Payment
- Payment is by EFT or another method agreed with you in writing.
- Full payment is due before delivery or collection unless we agree otherwise.
- We do not store card details.
4. Custom and handmade work
- Every piece is made and finished by hand. Small variations in colour, texture, and finish are part of the character of handmade work and are not defects.
- For commissions, we will share the design with you for approval before printing. Changes after approval may affect the price and timeline.
- Production times are estimates given in good faith. We will let you know as soon as possible if a timeline changes.
5. Delivery and collection
- Orders can be collected by arrangement or sent by courier at your cost.
- We pack every piece carefully. Once a parcel is handed to a courier, the courier's terms apply to the delivery itself. If something arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos and we will work with you to put it right.
6. Returns and refunds
- If a piece is defective, you have the rights given to you by the CPA, including repair, replacement, or refund as applicable.
- Custom-made and commissioned pieces are made specifically for you and cannot be returned for change of mind.
- Ready-made pieces from the Available Art page may be returned within 7 days of receipt if unused and undamaged, with return shipping at your cost.
7. Designs and intellectual property
- Original designs created by Printarium remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing. Buying a printed piece does not transfer the rights to the design.
- If you supply your own design or file, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that printing it will not infringe anyone else's rights.
- We may decline work that we believe infringes intellectual property rights or that we are not comfortable making.
- We may photograph finished work for our portfolio and social media. If your commission is private, tell us and we will keep it off our pages.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Decorative pieces are not toys and are not suitable for small children. Items are not food-safe or heat-resistant unless we specifically say so.
9. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies. We may update these terms from time to time, and the latest version will always be available on this page.
